About NAACP Davenport, Iowa, 52803

The Davenport NAACP was initially organized between 1916-18 with the intent of better addressing the issues of racial injustice and denial of civil rights which were occurring in their community. After considerable effort, the National NAACP granted the initial 50 members were approved to be Chartered as Davenport NAACP Unit #4019. Since that humble beginning, the NAACP has become the largest and the oldest, the baddest and the boldest, the most loved and most hated, the most feared and revered, the most cussed and the discussed civil rights organization in America.
